Croutons

This is the best recipe for croutons that we have found so far! They are so good on salads, and you can also use them to make awesome stuffing as well.

Whole Wheat Herbed Croutons
1 loaf of whole wheat french bread or baguette
2/3 cup olive oil
3 T dried minced onion
3 T dried parsley flakes
2 t garlic salt
1 t sage
1/2 t pepper

(I used a whole wheat baguette for mine)

Slice the bread

Dice into 1/2 inch cubes

Place on cookie sheets and bake at 300F for 45 min. Stir occasionally.

Mix together herbs and spices while bread is toasting.

After bread is through toasting, remove from oven and cool slightly.

Combine into one pan and drizzle with olive oil.

Sprinkle on the spices and toss to coat.

Store in a cool, dry place, in an airtight container. Use within 3-4 months. (I wish ours would last that long!!)
