Whole Wheat Herbed Croutons
1 loaf of whole wheat french bread or baguette
2/3 cup olive oil
3 T dried minced onion
3 T dried parsley flakes
2 t garlic salt
1 t sage
1/2 t pepper
| (I used a whole wheat baguette for mine) |
| Slice the bread |
| Dice into 1/2 inch cubes |
| Place on cookie sheets and bake at 300F for 45 min. Stir occasionally. |
| Mix together herbs and spices while bread is toasting. |
| After bread is through toasting, remove from oven and cool slightly. |
| Combine into one pan and drizzle with olive oil. |
| Sprinkle on the spices and toss to coat. |
| Store in a cool, dry place, in an airtight container. Use within 3-4 months. (I wish ours would last that long!!) |
